Neuheiten / Bugfixes in der Version 1.3.1

- Tile downloading optimizations
- New measure tool (press "M" key)
- New menu item to redownload imagery for the current view
- Added icon layer mouseover text
- Fixed bug with downloading tiles outside bounding box
- Added minimum and maximum display altitude for TerrainPath layers
- LayerSet.xsd schema changes; add-ons for previous versions may need to be updated
- Added optional anti-aliasing of placenames (configure in the World Settings window, Alt+W)
- Cache: .txt placeholders for tile not found errors now deleted after one day
- For certain user interface elements, World Wind now uses the World Wind Dings font instead of Wingdings 2 and Wingdings 3
- Added command line option "/f" for full screen
- "Planet Gravity" renamed to "Planet Inertia"
- Added distance, tilt, and field of view to extended position information
- When Tahoma font isn't available, default system font is now used
- Installer: translations added or fixed for several languages; corrupt installer bug fixed
- TerrainAccessor now saves terrain cache in \Cache\Earth instead of \Cache
- Local settings directory moved from \Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\NASA\NASA World Wind\[version] to \Documents and Settings\[user]\Application Data\NASA\World Wind 1.3
- Source code now builds under NAnt
- 3 new community-contributed add-ons: Highest Mountains, Population Density, and World Cities.


System Requirements

- Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, 2000, or XP

- Internet connection
- DirectX 9.0c and Managed DirectX 9.0c
- .NET Framework 1.1 runtime libraries

Minimum configuration

With the minimum configuration, performance and functionality may be less than expected.

- 700 MHz or higher CPU
- 128 MB RAM
- 1 GB disk space (World Wind's cache size is 2 GB by default; you must reduce the size of your cache)

Recommended configuration

- 1.4 GHz or higher CPU
- 256 MB of RAM
- DSL/cable connection or faster
- 3 GB of disk space


Known Issues

- HTTP proxy support is only partially implemented. To help developers enable full proxy support, please see http://worldwind.arc.nasa.gov/forums...showtopic=1891
- If World Wind does not download data, you may be experiencing a known issue with .NET 1.1. Examine your computer using the enum.exe tool at http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;815209 . If you have more than 50 protocol bindings, you need to reduce the number of bindings on your computer.
- With the 1.3.1 patch, World Wind Dings is not removed upon uninstall.
- Windows 95/98/ME compatibility requires additional feedback, please add observations here: http://wiki.worldwindcentral.com/Old..._Compatibility

also mich würde ja interessieren ob vergleichbare programme auch für andere computerplattformen existieren.

als treuer apfel benutzer bin ich hier zwar hoffnungslos im "feindgebiet" aber vielleicht kann mir ja trotzdem jemand helfen etwas ähnliches für apple macintosh (mac os 10.3) finden.

Leider überfordert das Programm meinen Rechner rettungslos.

Aber wenn man dann ein Bild in toller Auflösung hat: Wieviel Speicherplatz braucht das dann und kann man es auf CD brennen und in anderen (schwächeren) Rechnern betrachten ?

NASA: WorldWind

Schicke Software. Auf meinem System (nur ein 1K8 AMD und 750 mb Speicher) rennt das Teil supergut. Die farbigen Daten aus 10-15 km Höhe konvertiert ins s/w und geschärft sind wirklich brauchbar. *find*
Und dafür das die Software *gratis* ist(?): supergummigut!

Okay, die 1m Auflösung kann man nur über den USA bewundern, dafür gibt es dann auch echte Details!

Wer nicht glaubt oder weiß, was ich meine...

Hier mal ein paar Beispiele:
White House, 38,89768/-77,03653
Pentagon, 38,87100/-77,05600
United States Capitol, 38,88900/-77,00900
Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, 38,84900/-77,04100

Darüber hinaus sind die Orte Fort Meade, W. DC: Arlington durchaus mal einen Besuch wert. Und auch Fort Bragg sollte man mal aus der Luft gesehen haben, damit man mal die Dimensionen von US-Kasernen kennt. *staun*

Die Orte sind recht einfach zu erreichen: einfach via Find City die entsprechenden Koordinaten eingeben und als Höhe 1 (nicht 3600) eintragen.

Mit der Taste "+" kann man sich dann noch weiter an die Objekt ranzoomen.

Ich möchte aber auch anmerken: die ca. 250kb Download-Geschwindigkeit sind bei dieser Software wirklich von Vorteil; ohne mindestens DSL 1000 (oder besser) würd ich das ABENTEUER "NASA: WorldWIND" nicht wirklich empfehlen/versuchen.

Was mich mal interessieren würde... weiß irgendjemand wie Alt die Sat-Daten sind? Die in Deutschland derzeit benutzten SAT-Daten (und Luftbilder) gehen auf das Jahr 2000 bzw. 1998 zurück. Wie schauts bei den US-Daten aus?

Ich hab auf der Seite, wo die Feature des Programms stehen gesucht, hab aber zum Alter der Sat-Daten nix gefunden.

Die D-Sat Daten der aktuellen Version 6 sind identisch mit der V. 5 und dürften aus dem Jahr 2000 sein.. Die Version 6 ist eh nur eine aufgeblasene Version 5 der man noch ein paar Detail-Orte und ein tieferes zoomen spendiert hat.
